Our Mission
Connecting people and resources to those in need to demonstrate God’s Love.
Door of Hope’s mission is to bring awareness of local and global needs and to provide opportunities for individuals and churches to become directly involved in providing relief by offering their time, talents and resources to provide aid and direct relief to those that have experienced hardship locally, nationally and internationally.
Our Goals
To Prepare
individuals with the training and skills needed to assist those who have experienced hardships due to natural disasters and poverty in a manner that represents the values of the Kingdom of God.
To Partner
with local churches to create a unified faith-based resource that effectively represents the Good News of Jesus Christ while ministering to the widow, the orphan, and those in need of hope.
To Provide
opportunities for volunteers to use their knowledge, skills, abilities and spiritual giftings in local ministry opportunities along with short-term missionary projects.
Door of Hope operates an upscale resale store called Renewed Resale in Alma, Michigan that sells both new and used clothing, furniture, appliances, tools, hardware, home decor and a line of recycled paint. In addition to providing residents in Mid-Michigan with quality items at affordable prices, proceeds from sales support the work of Door of Hope in Gratiot County and around the world and help to minimize donor fatigue.
Our Ministry
Simply helping the local church live out the radical vision that Jesus intended for His followers when He prayed to His Father and asked, “that they may be one as we are one.” John 17:11
We understand that churches meet in different locations, at different times, and with different worship styles but we believe the church is the best represented when we unite in purpose to show God’s Love and the Good News of Jesus Christ by caring for and serving our neighbors. We are convinced that when we purpose to live as “The Church” we can have the greatest impact on our community and advance the Kingdom of God.

Licy Nkoloma - Biography
Director, Malawi Orphan Ministries
Licy Nkoloma born October 29, 1996, is a seasoned development practitioner, child welfare advocate, and Christian servant-leader from Malawi. As the firstborn in her family with a widowed mother and a younger brother, Licy’s personal journey has been shaped by resilience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving others. These foundational experiences instilled in her a deep sense of duty to uplift vulnerable populations, particularly children and families facing hardship and to lead with humility, integrity, and love.

MOMs - Malawi Orphan Ministries
Living in one of the poorest countries in the world poses many challenges for children, and it’s even more challenging if you are an orphan. In Malawi, 14 percent of children under the age of 18 are classified as orphans, having lost one or both parents. At MOMs, we currently care for 20 children on a full-time basis, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment to thrive in.
